Simple opal cuff
Here two Boulder Opals play off each other on a textured silver cuff. Each opal is set in gold and the contrast between the yummy blue, bright 22K gold and darkened silver makes this a simple but elegant cuff. $850
Ancient Pottery Shards
This striking Pendant is made up of fossil Ivory, an old anasazi pottery shard, and accented with an old african glass bead. It hangs from large white pearls, which can be worn alone, as the pendant is detachable. The bail of the pendent is accented with 22K gold.
People are not allowed to take pottery shards from national or state parks, but it is entirely legal to collect them on private property. This piece is from a private ranch near Mesa Verde. It is slightly curved suggesting it was from a very large bowl shaped piece..it would have been fabulous to see it in it's first incarnation! $750
Old african copal amber in modern treatment
Technically copal is a resin, a "pre-amber"...I'm not sure exactly how it is formed, but it's yummy colors really speak to me. This is a large bead 1" around from an old African necklace that I set in silver with a small opal in the center hole. It has gold accents and is on a cuttlefish band. $275. Each ring is unique.
Peruvian opals, the best of the sea colors
It's hard to love the beach and not love Peruvian Opal. The lovely sea green/blue is compelling. Found only in Peru, in the Andes, it's not an easy gem to find. Typically I find only 10 a year that I want to work with. These are set in silver with 22K gold accents.
